Functional everyday communication

The A2 course will lead you to handle simple routine conversations. You can be understood.

What's inside the A2 course

By the end of your A2 course, you’ll be able to:

01

Talk about your daily life, work, and hobbies

While A1 lets you state your job or a single hobby, A2 allows you to actually talk about them. You will learn to describe what your job entails, discuss your favorite free-time activities, express likes and dislikes in more detail, and have casual conversations with colleagues or friends about your week.

02

Describe your home, city, and routine

This topic expands your descriptive vocabulary. You will learn to describe your living space (rooms, furniture) and your neighborhood or city (amenities, atmosphere). You will also master the grammar needed to detail your daily routine from morning to night, using reflexive verbs (like me levanto or me acuesto) and sequential words like "then" and "later."

03

Order food, shop, make simple complaints

You will move beyond just pointing at a menu or paying for an item. At the A2 level, you practice negotiating everyday mishaps. This means learning how to ask for recommendations, return an item of clothing that doesn't fit, or politely make a simple complaint—like telling a waiter your food is cold or letting a hotel front desk know the Wi-Fi isn't working.

04

Talk about the past and future in a basic way

This is one of the biggest milestones in A2. You break out of the present tense to share your history and plans. You will learn to use basic past tenses to talk about what you did last weekend or where you grew up (Pretérito Indefinido and Imperfecto), and use simple future structures to discuss your upcoming vacation or weekend plans.

05

Travel independently in Spanish-speaking countries

This topic ties everything together to give you true functional independence on the road. You will practice the language skills needed to handle unexpected travel situations: booking a specific room, checking in at an airport, dealing with public transportation schedules, asking for recommendations from locals, and navigating a city confidently without relying on English.
