What's inside the B1 course

By the end of your B1 course, you’ll be able to:

01

Tell stories and describe experiences

This is about moving past simple, isolated sentences and learning to connect your thoughts. You can narrate a sequence of events—like a memorable childhood holiday or a funny thing that happened at work yesterday. You can talk about what you saw, how you felt, and how the situation wrapped up, using basic connecting words like because, then, after that, and suddenly.

02

Express opinions and preferences

Instead of just saying "I like X" or "I don't like Y," a B1 speaker can explain why. You can politely agree or disagree with friends, talk about your taste in music, movies, or food, and give simple reasons to back up your thoughts (e.g., "I prefer working from home because it saves me time, but I miss my colleagues").

03

Explain plans, dreams, and goals

This point focuses on the future. You are able to talk about what you intend to do next weekend, your career ambitions, or what your dream life looks like. You can describe your hopes using phrases like "I'm planning to," "I hope to," or "If I have the chance, I would love to," and give brief explanations for these choices.

04

Handle unexpected situations while traveling

This is your language safety net. If your train is canceled, your hotel reservation is lost, or you need to explain a mild medical issue to a pharmacist, you have the tools to handle it. You might not use flawless grammar, but you can confidently ask for help, explain the problem, understand the solution offered, and deal with most situations that arise while traveling in an area where the language is spoken.

05

Understand main ideas of TV, news & articles

You don't need to catch every single idiom or technical word, but you can follow the plot. If you watch a standard news broadcast, a TV show with clear speech, or read a straightforward newspaper article about a familiar topic, you will easily grasp the core message, who is involved, and what the main conflict or update is.

06

Write clear personal texts and emails

When it comes to writing, you can compose connected text on topics that are familiar or of personal interest. This includes writing a warm email to a friend updating them on your life, sending a clear message to a colleague about a project, or writing a review of a restaurant you just visited. Your writing is easy to follow and clearly conveys your personal thoughts.
