How our curriculum implements CEFR Levels at BeTalkio

Our curriculum has been carefully developed from the ground up, based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

The CEFR is a standard scale that describes language ability on a six-point scale from A1 (beginner) to C2 (mastery).
It provides a common basis for language learning, teaching, and assessment across Europe and internationally, helping to standardize proficiency levels for educational institutions, employers, and language learners.

A precise grammar Placement Test

Before you start your lessons, we test your grammatical knowledge using our placement test. With 10 sub-levels, we place you at a precise point in the CEFR scale — so you're never reviewing what you already know or struggling with content above your level.

For example, if you can use the Pretérito Perfecto and Indefinido correctly but haven't yet mastered the Pretérito Imperfecto, you'd continue at Level 9 (A2.5) — the last sub-level within A2 on the CEFR scale.

The teaching methods behind every class

Real communication is the goal. Everything we teach — grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation — serves that purpose.

Communication First

Effective Communication as an Absolute Priority

Our primary teaching goal is to help you communicate effectively at any level. The materials, the methods, and the structure of every class are designed around one thing: helping you actually talk in Spanish.

Effective Communication as an Absolute Priority
Cognitive Grammar

Learn by Using, Not Memorizing

Grammar is the most effective way to determine your level. But we don't make you memorize rules and exceptions. You learn grammatical forms through communication — how to give advice, express wishes, compare the past with the present. Grammar becomes a natural result of what you need to say.

Learning That Doesn't Feel Like Homework

We design every lesson with meaningful goals using a task-based approach. The idea is to get as close as possible to the actual use of Spanish every time you learn something new. Games and playful dynamics make the process so engaging that you'll be speaking to achieve the goals of the task — almost without realizing it.
